Support offered includes the opportunity to rebuild trust after an affair, strengthen friendship within the relationship, and support during periods of high stress — such as bringing a child into the home through birth, adoption, or fostering. The Gottman Method offers practical, easy-to-understand, and clearly applicable tools and exercises to help couples navigate the challenges of life together. The couple is the identified client throughout treatment.
Gottman Method techniques used in couples counseling provide a structured, goal-oriented approach — helping partners develop practical skills to navigate the challenges of their relationship. Benefits include improved communication as couples learn to express their needs and feelings openly, listen with empathy, and resolve conflicts constructively. Increased emotional intimacy through exercises that promote openness and vulnerability. Effective conflict resolution as couples learn to de-escalate tension, approach disagreements with a problem-solving mindset, and address recurring issues through compromise and mutual understanding.
The Gottman Method is evidence-based, with over four decades of research behind it.
